The act of creation should be valued as an end in itself, rather than merely a means to achieve recognition or success. It’s crucial to understand that there are no guarantees in the pursuit of writing.

After completing my latest piece, I found myself repeatedly refreshing my Medium profile, eager to see if it garnered any attention. Despite knowing that notifications were enabled, I still felt compelled to check the claps, views, and comments manually.

This habit reveals that I haven’t entirely adopted the mindset I aspire to. I find myself wanting to know whether my work resonates with readers or fades into oblivion. The level of engagement on my posts can significantly influence my mood, and I recognize this isn’t a healthy place to be—I need to liberate myself from these impulses.

The satisfaction derived from social media engagement can easily become an addiction. Often, it leads us to seek validation from strangers, equating their approval with the worth of our efforts. It’s vital to remember: we must stop chasing after approval.

For those participating in partner programs, the motivation often centers around financial gain. I cannot overlook this reality. Nevertheless, I've observed two distinct types of individuals on this platform: those who try to manipulate the algorithm and those who write from a place of genuine expression and purpose.

I aspire to be among the latter. To achieve this, I commit to making writing a daily habit. Though I missed a day recently, I am determined to write today. While I strive to maintain consistency, I won't chastise myself for occasional lapses. After all, I am human, and I embrace the inevitability of setbacks; my focus remains on doing my best.
