Why Writers Need Personal Publications

Dear Writers,

To enhance their content's visibility, writers require various tools. One such tool is publishing on platforms like Medium. Freelance writers must adopt an entrepreneurial mindset to succeed in their writing careers. By honing their marketing and entrepreneurial skills alongside creativity, writers can significantly increase their passive income.

In 2020, Dr. Mehmet Yildiz, our chief editor, launched an initiative encouraging writers to share stories about their personal publications with Illumination. He then compiled these works and presented them to both his and our publication's subscribers.

Dr. Yildiz motivates every writer to establish a personal publication, having assisted several in achieving this goal. Additionally, the editor of Technology Hits has curated these personal publications from our contributors and shared them on Illumination-Curated.

As a testament to this initiative, Dr. Yildiz created his own publication, retaining about 10% of his selected stories in a personal publication called Euphoria, tailored to his specific audience. He also maintains a publication named Illumination Blog, which houses all his editorial bulletins and articles aimed at guiding new writers. He encourages every writer to create similar publications in their niche.

From his experience, having a publication serves as an effective collaboration tool between writers and their readers. Many of his stories gained significant traction through this publication due to the ongoing dialogue with his subscribers.

He highlighted that subscribers can yield results far superior to mere followers for freelance writers. The primary objective of a personal publication is to centralize specific stories in one location, allowing easy sharing of a single link with readers and subscribers. Moreover, personal publications can serve as platforms for promoting affiliate marketing efforts, enabling writers to generate additional passive income through their content and affiliate links, provided they adhere to platform rules.
