The Promise of Abundant Life
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10). In ancient Israel, sheep were gathered together at night for safety, confined in stone pens with a designated gatekeeper. This arrangement ensured their security, as the gatekeeper would only allow the rightful owner to enter.
In this context, Jesus serves as our vigilant Gatekeeper, protecting us from harm and ensuring our safety. He knows us personally and understands who belongs in His presence.

"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19). The Apostle Paul penned this while imprisoned in Rome, a place far from the abundance one might expect from God’s glory. Yet, even in captivity, Paul found contentment in God’s love.
This serves as a powerful example of being grateful for what we have. Trusting that God will provide for our true needs allows us to experience peace and fulfillment. While He may not always give us what we desire, He ensures we have what we require to love and obey Him.
God, in His wisdom, knows what is best for us and provides accordingly.
